Udstillingen tager afsæt i begrebet ’worldbuilding’ og undersøger gennem 5 arkitekters værker bud på alternative verdener og fremtider.
Arkitekter har tradition for at opbygge imaginære verdener, for derigennem at stille skarpt på en specifik problemstilling og rejse nye arkitektoniske spørgsmål.
Begrebet ’worldbuilding’ har været en anledning til at arbejde med fiktive rum, som et felt for spekulation og undersøgelse - det ved at fremskrive eksisterende problematikker, logikker eller ved at arbejde med utopien - og dermed at sætte vores arkitektoniske samtid i perspektiv.
’Spawner’ viser værker af forskellige arkitekter, spændende over en tidsperiode på 50 år - fra før William Gibson fantaserede om og brugte begrebet ’cyberspace’ første gang til i dag, hvor cyberspace er en realitet, fra en tid hvor elementbyggeriet havde grebet om sig, og hvor effektivisering af produktionen var i højsædet til en tid, hvor klimakrisen står som en uundseelig konsekvens, og hvor arkitektur er blevet en vigtig fantasi.
De fem bidrag i udstillingen, forstås sammen som modeller for arkitektoniske tilstande og alternative verdener.
Der spekuleres i arbejdskrævende landskaber, den globale haves frugter, vrangvendte åndehuller, feedback som organisationsform og voidet som site.
De fem værker er uddrag af tilstande, med hver deres ’dynamics’: Deres indbyggede cykler er drevet af verdenernes interne forhold mellem arkitektur/by/landskab og beboer.
De 5 tilstande hører forskellige tider til og de er forankret i den tid, de er skabt - enhver fantasi om en alternativ rammesætning af vores liv - uanset i hvor simpel og afgrænset en form - vil også være en historie om drømme, fejl og frygt i det samfund, hvor den opstod.
Med titlen spawner, undersøges begrebet worldbuilding ved at kigge på dynamikkerne som den drivende og skabende faktor i de verdener som gydes gennem de 5 bidrag.

As the sensitive feedback system in a spawning salmon, regulating and timing the exact moment and site for the eggs to drop and new life to inhabit, feedback as a spatial strategy based on communication-organisation might be a method to spawn new sensible, and adaptable spaces as well as new sensations, actions and perspectives. The dynamics of cyberspace is feedback - feedback as a way of creating architecture, as a physical affective impact, and as a way of framing space.
Void: autonomy - urbanism
Jens Rønholt Schmidt 'anatomy of a non-plan'
The act of drafting structures, skins and mobile entities is simultaniously the act of drafting voids. These voids are sites for autonomy, speculation, imagination and conotation. The fixed structures and hollow facades works as synapses for autonomous forces or anarchistic movements to extend and inhabit. The mobile parts programme the public space or rural area, they occupy. They accommodate rest, speech, protest and resistance. The dynamics of this architecture is the void as site for autonomous construction like an architectural wikipedia.
Reverse: gap - urbanism
Panuela Aasted & Kristiane Fenger 'land of the living souls'
By spawning a new community in the holy gap of the Sarup plant, this piece suggests the reversed, the gaps and strips between privatized plots as new sites for communities, slowly reversing the neoliberal organisation and distribition of ressources and land.
The dynamics of this speculation is reversing to gain and nurture common space.
Dependency: hinge - landscape
Anna Barner Stokholm 'Landlock'
Spawning new worlds might include errors and dark mutations; a landlock, a forever hinge between worker and landscape. A labourscape, in need of neverending caretaking, like a greedy machine that lacks outtcome. A world, where the harvester is no longer human but the planet demanding constant care and nurturing. The dynamics of the landlock, is the hinge between human and a once fruitful donator that is now a coersive host. The same scene, shed in a different light, gives meaning to life in a new way, where caretaking and maintaining will be the very virtues of society. Worshipping the relationship between hand and machine, hand and tool, tool and land and hand and soil. The physical labour as a hinge between inhabitant and place.
Digi-botanics: simulteinity - landscape
Steen Høyer 'Global Garden'
The world has become a global garden; an expanded romantic garden, nurtured by the dynamics of digi-botanics and simulteinity. There is no structure neither hierachy - global symbols, images, signs and meaning float scalelessly, timelessly and simultanously, breeding new fruits, new sites and new meanings.
Fruitful, is the digi-botanic sprouts; some clone, some eccho and some hysome hybrid.
The site of creation has changed and is not growing linearly, but in all directions. The challenge of the architect is to select, assemble and stretch this infinite spatiality. A fragmented scenography and narrative that spans a larger space than the Baroque or ever before.
